This is the Boston Dynamics Spot Mini robot 'dog'. One of my favorite leading edge technology companies. The Spot is not just a prototype and is in series production and used for a multitude of tasks where there is risk to humans.
It has an interesting current use by Space X as a machine to investigate rocket landing (or crash) sites where there are lots of dangers for humans. Space X have two at their facility in Boca Chica, Texas and they are called Apollo and Zeus.
Some of my renderings here are my take on what they may look like if they were painted in Space X 'colors'
I really enjoy modelling mechanical things for pure enjoyment and this one presented some nice challenges with its combination of mechanical complexity and organic curves.
Its fully modelled and rendered in Fusion 360. Approximately 60hrs work. 40 Hours for the robot itself and another 20 hours for the mounted camera.
